Godzilla (1956) Filmed Here Plaque

Field review by the editors.

Los Angeles, California

A historical plaque, dedicated to the Tokyo-stomping monster, is bolted a cinderblock pillar on an otherwise untheatrical street. It was unveiled on March 25th, 2006 -- roughly the 50th anniversary of the five days that Raymond Burr spent filming Godzilla at Visual Drama Studios, which is now an elementary school. Burr's scenes were inserted to create the 1956 American version of the 1954 Japanese movie.
