Human Body Parts Museum
Houston, Texas
The Haley Museum was named after Dr. John Haley, the first anatomy professor at Baylor College of Medicine after the College (then Baylor University College of Medicine) moved from Dallas to Houston. It consists mainly of anatomical specimens brought by Dr. Haley from Dallas.
The exhibit is arrayed on shelves behind glass, a collection of body parts -- brain and trunk cross-sections, feet, bones, organs in jars -- both normal or altered by disease. The exhibit includes anatomical replicas created for educational purposes. Medical students are the primary audience, though the museum also attracts tourists.
The John C. Haley Museum is located in the basement of the DeBakey Building at Baylor.
