Grave of J.D. Tippit: Oswald Shot Him
Dallas, Texas
Veteran Dallas police officer J.D. Tippitt, was shot and killed within an hour after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dealey Plaza on Nov. 22, 1963. Dallas police rapidly connected the dots and apprehended the alleged perpetrator of both crimes -- Lee Harvey Oswald.
Tippitt was driving on patrol on the streets of Oak Cliff, a Dallas neighborhood, when he spotted a man fitting the rough description issued over his radio minutes earlier. Tippitt stopped the man, who shot him four times, in front of witnesses. Among the conspiracy crowd, this murder is also viewed with skepticism that Oswald was the shooter, in spite of the testimony of multiple eyewitnesses....
The heroic officer was buried at Laurel Land Memorial Park on November 25, 1963, the same day as the burials of Oswald and Kennedy.
