Big Bull Skull
Abilene, Texas
A big, white, broken bull skull lies on a patch of grass, apparently abandoned on an old cattle trail by one of Abilene's Bunyan-size pioneers. In fact, it was sculpted by local artist Joe Barrington, who learned to build things while playing in his dad's welding shop. Big as it is, the skull ranks only second in Abilene, which has a buffalo skull that's even bigger.
