Boy and the Boot (indoor)
Ellenville, New York
Ellenville has three Boy and the Boot statues, and two can be seen by the public (the third, and oldest, is awaiting restoration). The Boy and the Boot inside the town museum had stood outside the Scoresby Club House since 1925, where he was the centerpiece of a circular fountain inside a small traffic triangle (This odd intersection was featured on several old postcards). Vandalism, car crashes, and the widening of the roads eventually led to the demolition of the fountain.
The Boy was moved inside the Club House for a few years; then when it was demolished the Boy, a survivor, made his way to the museum.
