Installed in 2012-13, six bronze sculptures of Dr. Seuss characters (by sculptor Leo Rijn) are part of Abilene's Storybook Sculpture Project -- which also includes Dino Bob by Bob "Daddy-O" Wade about a block away. The Cat in the Hat, the Lorax, the Grinch, Horton the elephant, Yertle the Turtle, and Sam-I-Am from Green Eggs and Ham all are represented. The statues are mounted low to the ground so that kids can touch them.
