Mrs. and Mr. Goode and the Cowboy.
Glenn Goode's Cowboy Muffler Man (In Transition)
Gainesville, Texas
Type: Cowboy (22 ft. tall)
Arm position: Right arm waving, left arm down
Accessories: Stetson Hat
This fiberglass guy in a cowboy hat is one of Glenn Goode's earliest acquisitions, bought in 1971 from a Garland, Texas go-cart track. The head is regulation Muffler Man style -- Glenn cast it from a Muffler Man in Canton, Texas. The arms are not standard muffler- or ax-bearing. And the pants are pressed and pleated.
Glenn's ingenuity in cobbling together Muffler Men parts from different sources has also led to some non-standard hybrids. None of Glenn's five fiberglass giants is a truly orthodox Muffler Man, but who's quibbling? His line-up is unique.
Glenn passed away in 2015; his Big People remain on display and easily visible to the public.
