Big John

Statue collector George Farnham was able to acquire this rare Big John figure when its previous owner, a supermarket in West City, Illinois, closed, and the statue was put up for auction in 2005. It's been in George's yard in Unger ever since.

Big Johns are 28 feet tall, larger than Muffler Men. The grinning grocery clerk is designed to hold four stuffed-to-bursting bags of groceries.

In 2015 George let us know that he'd done some repairing and repainting, and that his "Big John is now Vegetarian Man. He is also multi-cultural."
