Museum of Coca-Cola Memorabilia

Field review by the editors.

Cedartown, Georgia

Opened in an abandoned former Coca-Cola battling plant in June 2016. It's the personal collection of whiz-kid Daniel Morris, who wasn't even born until 20 years after the plant closed in 1977.

The stated purpose of the museum is "to educate visitors on American history through the unique lens of marketing strategies." That history ends in 1977, because the collection stops at the year the bottling plant closed. One exception to this rule is the "Coca-Cola Robot," a mash-up between a Coke can and R2-D2 built for the 1996 Olympics (although "Star Wars" did come out in 1977). George Lucas later sued Coke over the robot, which is probably why it's on display here and not in The New World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta.

Other exhibits of note include an entire Coke barn wall sign from 1937, Coca-cola swastika watch fobs from the 1920s, and "the earliest known coin-operating vending machine in existence."
