Mysterious Rosicrucian Pyramid
Quakertown, Pennsylvania
On the grounds of a Rosicrucian retreat are a Parthenon-style Greco-Roman temple fronted by white columns, and a stone pyramid over 30 feet tall. The pyramid was built in the 1920s by chiropractor Rueben Clymer (1858-1967), who also happened to be a Rosicrucian Grand Master. If you peer into its dark interior you can glimpse an All-Seeing Eye.
The pyramid is surrounded by a rose garden that serves as a Rosicrucian cemetery; their ashes are planted under rose bushes, not tombstones. There's a second, shrimpy stone pyramid visible from the road.
Despite the "No Trespassing" signs, visitors are permitted -- but only during the daytime, and no pets.
