Old Hitler: 25-Foot-Long Shark

Field review by the editors.

Cortez, Florida

Sculpted from fiberglass and styrofoam by local artist Rose Lipke, "Old Hitler" was originally meant to hang outside an RV park under development in 2016. But the park fell through, and the giant Hammerhead Shark had to wait until 2018 before a new location could be found.

Old Hitler is legendary for his strength, and size, and meanness. According to local stories he once pulled a jeep off a bridge by clamping onto its tow wench, and his face bears scars from multiple bullets. He has never been caught. Lipke's sculpture makes him look terrifying.
