Easter Island Head
Victoria, Texas
An inscription at the base of this ten-foot-high Moai, a faithful reproduction of one of the enigmatic sculptures found on Easter Island, suggests that it was carved by someone named A.T. Dincans Jr. in 1997. Other than that, its history is as mysterious as the original heads on Easter Island.
The head stands in a prominent spot at a traffic intersection across from the city golf course -- so maybe there's a tourist astral-plane connection between this monolith and the big Tiki heads found on old-style miniature golf courses?
