The McVeytown Knight

The McVeytown Knight is the mascot of the local football team in the Juniata Valley Youth League, and stands next to their dirt parking lot. He looks ancient -- apparently made of weather-aged bronze -- but that's an illusion; the Knight is a modern statue that arrived circa 2013. The life-size and lifelike bearded warrior sits astride a warhorse, with a shield, open-face helmet, and upraised sword.

Directions:: Southwest edge of town. From US-22 turn at the playground and Idle Acres Camp Grounds sign onto Foundation Way (a dirt road). You'll see a parking lot on the left; the statue is at the far end of that parking lot.
