The Great Catsby
Duluth, Minnesota
The Great Catsby was the feline celebrity of the neighborhood around Duluth East High School. He was so friendly that he would get into people's homes or cars, but leap out the nearest window if anyone tried to keep him inside. For five years he roamed the houses and streets until he was hit by a car just before Thanksgiving 2016. He was given a large obituary in the Duluth News Tribune, and a year later a life-size bronze statue of the cat was unveiled on a pedestal at one of his favorite haunts near the high school, where he liked to lounge and get ear-rubs and pets from passers-by.
