Zombie Dad
Forest Park, Illinois
A full-color ceramic version of Richard P. White sits on the front porch of his townhouse, wearing a baseball cap, t-shirt, shorts, and sandals with socks. It was sculpted by his artist daughter in 2017. She named it Zombie Dad.
The statue, with arms folded across its chest and an unhappy expression, doesn't look exactly like Richard, who is basically a happy (and still alive) guy. But it's close enough. He encouraged his daughter's art when she was in school -- she now teaches art in Ohio -- and has patiently posed for countless photos with Zombie Dad, taken by visitors.
Ceramic has a limited lifespan in the outdoors, so Zombie Dad fans are advised to visit before he falls apart.
