Fogelman Sports History Museum
Boca Raton, Florida
Immodestly promoting itself as "A Collection Like No Other," the museum opened in February 2020 and houses the sports memorabilia trove of Avron Fogelman, a millionaire Boca Raton retiree and former owner of the Kansas City Royals baseball team. It includes that club's World Series victory trophy, but also the 13 original handwritten rules of basketball, a football signed by the undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphins, and Babe Ruth's first pair of Yankees pants.
Avron is one of the few businessmen to have an Interstate highway named for him: the Avron Fogelman Expressway, generically known as I-240 south of Memphis. He also owned the Memphis Chicks minor league baseball team.
