Fountain of Youth Water
St. Augustine, Florida
No visit to the Fountain of Youth in St. Augustine, Floria, is complete without drinking some of its magical water, but the Fountain itself -- a genuine natural spring -- only provides small sips to visitors out of tiny plastic cups. The only way to get real rejuvenating mouthful is to buy a bottle of it in the gift shop. Visitors are warned not to let any of the precious water escape down the drain.
For reasons that probably thread some arcane legal loophole, purchasers are reminded that they aren't buying Fountain of Youth water; they're buying an empty Fountain of Youth bottle, which can then be filled with the water "for free." Glass, however, isn't free; since we took this photo, the price has gone up to five bucks a bottle. And visitors are limited to 12 bottles, possibly to keep them above the safe drinking age for age-reducing water.
