Tribute to Neon (and Whiskey)
Los Angeles, California
Bulleit Frontier Whiskey paid for a neon billboard, which features the Kentucky beverage's logo surrounded by a dozen L.A.-themed icons. Unveiled in September 2017, designed and fabricated by artists Brendan Donnelly and Lisa "Neon Queen" Schulte, the billboard was supposed to be displayed only for a couple of months in L.A.'s Grand Central Market -- but proved to be so popular that it was given a permanent spot.
The whiskey company pledged to donate $10 for every Tweeted photo of the neon billboard toward the restoration of a "Dale's Cocktails" neon sign in Alameda. The restoration was completed in 2018, and that sign is now displayed in Glendale's Museum of Neon Art.
