Earth Clock: Mini-Stonehenge
Burlington, Vermont
When civilization collapses and humanity reverts to Stone Age technology, the citizens of Burlington may be glad that they have the Earth Clock. Vertical boulders on the grass encircle a sundial of individual rocks, each inscribed with an hourly number. However, the actual operation of the Earth Clock is surprisingly complicated, and is explained by a rather flimsy sign that seems unlikely to survive even a minor apocalypse. Earth Clock's practical potential may quickly devolve into pagan ritual.
The Clock was built in November 2006 by a local group who believed that its rock arrangement focused healing and life-enhancing energies. A bare minimum nod to 'hengedom, it's a popular hangout for solstice fans and the Green Mountain Druid Order.
