As the centerpiece of his Putt Pirates mini golf course, self-elected mayor Louie Keen of the tourist town Uranus wanted something that would make travelers on Route 66 stop and take photos. He decided that the one thing that everyone would want to see would be Mega Mayor Muffler Man -- a Muffler Man that looked like mayor Louie Keen.

Erected on March 16, 2021, Mega Mayor is the progeny of a 1960s Muffler Man cowboy in Calgary, Alberta, that ended up bashed and shattered in an Edmonton junkyard. The fragments were brought to Virginia in 2018 and reassembled, Frankenstein-style, by fiberglass artist Mark Cline, who made a mold of the body. "They told me he was unusable," said Mark. "But if I can make something from nothing, I can certainly make something from something."

Mark cast a new Muffler Man from his mold and then customized it into a one-of-a-kind likeness of Louie Keen, stubble and all, wearing his red, white, and blue mayoral "pure America" outfit.

The Mega Mayor is part of Mayor Keen's long-term master plan to make Uranus "the craziest, most mind-blowing place you ever went to." Although he frequently describes himself as handsome, Mayor Keen judged his Mega Mayor likeness to be "beautiful."
