High Point, North Carolina

Painted in August 2019 by Brian Davis as part of the High Point Mural Project, which wants to cover all of the city's eyesore outdoor walls with art. The "512" on his hat is a reference to The 512 Collective, a group of local artists behind the mural project.

Davis has painted several other murals around the city, and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is not what he would consider to be his best mural work. It was supposed to be temporary -- Davis had originally planned to cover the entire wall with a giant comic strip featuring Ace Ventura: Pet Detective -- but the Marshmallow Man has proved so popular that he has remained.

Davis also painted High Point's famous World's Largest Chest of Drawers, part of his deployment of large-scale public art in what he hopes will re-establish High Point as a tourist destination.
