Papa Burger on his back.

Front Yard Papa Burger

Field review by the editors.

Avondale, Colorado

On a lightly-traveled rural road, a 1960s A&W Papa Burger statue keeps what must be a lonely vigil. By 2012 his eyes, nose, and mouth had been retouched with what appeared to be sprayed-on paint; his clothing was scuffed; and he was missing his giant burger and root beer mug. Last reported at this spot in 2022, on his back, faded paint from a Santa suit makeover, and still without his burger and mug.
