Roswell, New Mexico

A flying saucer hovers over a dark landscape, in a sky illuminated by stars in the Milky Way. Covering most of an outdoor wall, painted in October 2019 by Larry Bob Phillips, the mural is designed in such a way that a path on the ground appears to lead straight onto the welcoming, lowered ramp of the saucer. "Roswell... we believe!" is painted across the starry sky.

The mural was paid for by Roswell's downtown business association, and the wall was carefully chosen; it's between the UFO Museum and its parking lot, and faces Roswell's main shopping street. The idea is that people will stop, pose as if they're about to enter the saucer, see the storefronts of downtown, and decide that they want to remain on Earth a little longer, and spend some money in Roswell.
