Multiplism Yard Art
Rutherford, New Jersey
Victor Victori is a serious artist. He's created a sculptural style that he calls "multiplism." We're not sure what that means, although his humanoid creations all appear to have extra faces and limbs.
Victor has transformed the yard outside his suburban home into an outdoor gallery. His sculptures, sometimes standing as high as 11 feet, take years to complete, and are made of a muddy brown mixture of cement, sand, and mortar. There are seven in all, with subjects that include Moses, Jesus, Zeus, and Buddha. All of them feature the same big masses of twisted human forms.
Victor's last sculpture, "God and I," is the biggest of all, 18 feet high. He fell while working on it, so he added a tiny falling man on the sculpture's base.
