The owner of The Bee Mart, a small gas station in rural Texas, is a big fan of Bumblebee the Transformer. When he opened the Mart in late 2021 he painted the dining area yellow and black, as well as an outdoor mural of Bumblebee busting through the wall from the minimart freezer section.

Where was Bumblebee going? That question was answered in March 2022 when a 20-foot-tall statue of Bumblebee arrived and was hoisted by crane atop a five-foot-high concrete pedestal next to the gas pumps. The statue came not from Cybertron, but from China, where it was built of car parts and metal. Its eyes glow blue at night.

When asked by local reporters "Why here?" employees at The Bee Mart frankly had no idea, but speculated that Bumblebee came to a gas station in Elmo because it was the last place that the evil Decepticons would think to look for him. They also noted that sales at The Bee Mart had doubled since the statue's arrival.
