The cluster of boulders seems to appear out of nowhere, a stark contrast to the mostly treeless, rolling hills where cows graze.

The Elephant Rocks are rounded outcroppings said to resemble a herd of elephants. Maybe we're viewing at the wrong angles; the resemblance is a stretch.

The rocks offer a fun stop in the gravel pull-off en route to the coast. It's popular for sunset pics. The rocks themselves are down on private ranch land, as far as we know.
