Spock Bust and Handprint
Vulcan, Alberta
The Trek-happy town of Vulcan had perhaps its most memorable day on April 23, 2010, when Leonard Nimoy visited to unveil a bronze bust of Starship Enterprise science officer Spock and press his live-long-and-prosper hand into a slab of wet cement. "I have never had an experience quite as touching as I'm having here today," he told a cheering crowd, many of them dressed in outfits approximating those worn by the Enterprise crew in the original series.
Nimoy passed away less than five years later, but every visitor to Vulcan can still put their hand in Spock's print. An accompanying plaque quotes Nimoy: "Spock is definitely one of my best friends."
