Front Lawn Superhero of Curt Gray.

Front Lawn Robots

Field review by the editors.

East Meadow, New York

Curt Gray, a contractor, has said that he always enjoyed creating sculptures of his favorite pop culture icons out of household junk. During the pandemic lockdown he decided to make giant-size robot versions of superheroes, 18 feet tall, and place them in his front yard. He thought that they would uplift the spirits of his neighborhood.

The yard now has several of these Titans -- including robot versions of Iron Man, Batman, and Wonder Woman -- with more under construction in Curt's back yard, including a robot Frankenstein's monster. Curt does very little welding; most of his creations are either bolted or glued together, but they are nonetheless very sturdy.

If Curt is out in the yard when you stop by, he'll probably be happy to take your picture with his robots.
