TrainTastic: World's Largest Model Railroad Museum

This attraction is the vision of two brothers, who made their fortune in Domino's Pizza franchises. It claims to be the "World's Largest Model Railroad Museum," with aspirations to one day house North America's largest model railroad layout (a title currently held by New Jersey's Northlandz). The layout that TrainTastic currently has is still impressive and varied, and includes a large Lego-universe city and a unique spaceport-of-the-future that is evidently still serviced by old-fashioned trains.

Other areas in this sprawling museum include a full-size Pullman car video theater, and exhibits that explain the different scales of model trains, how they're powered, their history, the art of layout design, and one titled, "Physics of model trains."

Directions:: Northeast of town. From US-90 turn north at the stoplight onto Hewes Ave. Drive one mile. Turn left at the stoplight onto Pass Rd. You'll see the museum ahead on the left.
