SnoBoy

Field review by the editors.

Minneapolis, Minnesota

A large billboard on a high metal scaffold depicts a 2-D juvenile made of snow, wearing earmuffs and fondling a giant apple. The sign was erected in 1954. SnoBoy. a food mascot, had been around since 1925 as a snowman. By the '50s his shape had morphed into this stay-puft hybrid.

SnoBoy (the company) continues to operate, selling fresh produce. The sign is well-maintained.
