We visited the Cuckoo Clock, to find it had been removed about two months ago from the rear roof of the restaurant to a patio area in the rear of the restaurant. To access it, you must walk through the gift shop to the glass doors entering the patio.
It did play on the hour, but the right arm of the maiden had come off, and needed to be repaired.
[Susan Eaton, 10/13/2007]The World's Largest Cuckoo Clock in Wilmot, OH, got an extensive makeover on August 16, 2007 by Hampton Hotels Save-A-Landmark program. Sixteen volunteers joined forces in an estimated 80-hour volunteer effort to paint, varnish and oil the animated singing and dancing figurines, replace and grout the stonework, complete a new pond, and repaint the landmark's water wheel. Hampton Hotels also contributed nearly $20,000 to the Cuckoo Clock's ongoing care, which enabled the 23-foot landmark to be moved to ground level to become elderly and handicap-accessible.
[Esther, 08/27/2007]The restaurant serves only a buffet on Saturdays. Better get a reservation, since it was next to impossible to get a seat without it. They have a bluegrass band on Saturdays; you are charged more for it, but they didn't actually play while we were there. They started at about 6:30 pm. The decor inside looked the same as the pics but I didn't see a train. There was no cheese place next door.
The World's Largest Cuckoo Clock was closed. We will go back.

The attraction is very worthwhile. The figures dance and play traditional European music. The clock is closed during the winter though.
I first went here as a child, and I have visited it numerous times with my daughter. The food is excellent. Children's prices are based on their weight. For every pound they weigh, the restaurant charges one cent for the meal. The pudding is out of this world...so is the Swiss steak.
Beautiful murals are spread throughout the place. There are little trains chugging along the miniature railroad as you are eating. Don't forget to get some of the cheese they make in the dairy beside this great roadside attraction.
[paul, 03/26/2006]The clock isn't all that big (Okay, maybe for a cuckoo clock it is.). About 10 feet tall and maybe 20 wide, on the rooftop of the Alpine Alpa restaurant. For 25 cents, you walk up some stairs and, on the hour, watch as half a dozen cheap, plaster figurines move out on a track and spin to the tune of lively oompah music for five minutes.
