The Military Heritage Museum is located inside the Fishermen's Village for now, but a gentleman named Frank told us that it will be moving in three months to a larger, two-story building nearby. We enjoyed walking around the place and talking about the exhibits.
[Barbara, 01/30/2019]The Military Heritage and Aviation Museum is a small, non-profit, museum featuring donated artifacts from the four armed services. Donations supporting the operation are appreciated. It is located in the unique Fishermen's Village shopping mall/wharf. A new museum building is planned at the Punta Gorda airport, site of the annual Florida International Air Show, this year featuring the U. S. Navy "Blue Angels." The original museum will be maintained as well to assist visitors in locating the larger museum building. We anticipate that the new location will allow us to display various donated military aircraft and vehicles. I am a volunteer docent at the museum and am a war veteran as are all our docents.
