Ardmore, Oklahoma: Tiny Chapel (Closed)

When you step inside the very small foyer, there's a guest book for visitors to sign. You can enter the chapel, close and lock the door behind you, at which time lights turn on, a hymn plays and a fan circulates the air...and when we visited it was 108 degrees.

I was amazed at the lack of respect for the efforts this father made to honor his sons...cigarette butts on the ground. If I wasn't handicapped I would have picked them up. Maybe you will do that when you visit this chapel.

It is a memorial to his sons, all of whom predeceased him. When you walk in the front door, you enter a tiny one person-sized lobby. When you close the door behind you, music begins to play. The interior has a center aisle with two sets of single person pews which leads to an altar with an open bible. It is quite famous in our area and the guest book includes names from states as far away as South Carolina and Oregon.

I want to add another small church that you might need a little research on. It's located east of Ardmore, just off the state highway going toward Dickson and Madill.
