94th Aero Squadron Restaurant

The 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant, outside of the airport, has a World War II theme for each room. Outside there is a lot more to see.

94th Aero Squadron

This place is named after the 94th Aero Squadron, one of the most famous of the early American air force units (Columbus native and American ace Eddie Rickenbacker flew with these guys). Situated between the runways at Port Columbus, it gives you great views of incoming and outbound flights, but you have to ask for the window seats to get those views.

Even if you don't eat, they will allow you to walk around and look at all the funky memorabilia, found in virtually all corners, and on the lawn and patio areas! If you are hungry, they have one of the best Sunday brunches in town.

Friday Nights they have a DJ and the 60+ get wild, no joke.

94th Aero Squadron Restaurant

I noticed that the site has a page devoted to the 100th Bomb Group Restaurant in Cleveland. Columbus' own 94th Aero Squadron is very similar -- located next to the airport, themed like a bombed-out French restaurant, food quality much like a bombed-out French Restaurant, etc. I ate at the 94th for Easter brunch and took some pictures. From what I ate, I don't recommend the restaurant, although the ambiance is nice, and it's cool to see the planes from Port Columbus take off right outside the windows.

There are 94th Aero Squadron Restaurants, featuring WWII decor, in San Diego, Philadelphia, College Park, MD; Wheeling, IL; and other locations.
