St. Louis, Missouri: World's Largest Amoco Sign
A sign of colossal scale is perched on the roof of a down-to-earth gas station. A giant gas sign of some sort has been on this roof since 1932. Sign updated in late 2019; it looks much as it has since the 1970s. Current sign is 40 feet high and 60 feet wide.

The station under the sign is once again an Amoco.
[Ladona Smith, 07/18/2022]The reason this sign is over a BP station is that in 1998 Amoco merged with BP. Soon after, all Amoco and Standard stations were re-branded BP. In 2017 the Amoco brand was reintroduced in select markets.

I wouldn't drive too far out of your way, but if you're driving by anyway... It must be a landmark, because notice it's now a BP gas station

This is claimed to be the World's Largest Amoco Sign. It's still there, but it's now on top of a BP gas station.
[Jim L, 10/05/2012]This gargantuan sign -- the largest Amoco sign in the world -- is located at the intersection of three major thoroughfares: Skinker Blvd. (also known as McCausland), Clayton Rd., and Oakland Ave. It's a stone's throw from Interstate 64 (known locally as Highway 40), just inside the St Louis City limits. The service station is in full operation under the name Stevenson's HiPointe Amoco. Not sure of the sign's actual height, but it is hard to miss.
