Music Legends in Bronze

This is in Buck Owens Crystal Palace, which is now a cheap tourist trap with mediocre food, featuring cheesy bands that would make Buck roll over in his grave. The statues are cheesy popular country music stars that have nothing to do with the Bakersfield Sound or Buck's music.

Music Legends in Bronze

This is my second visit to Buck Owens' Crystal Palace. The first time they wouldn't let me in at 8:40 even for drink because they close at 9. This time I had to practically fight with them to get a table, even though the place was half empty.

As for the statues -- they are really mediocre and worse yet they not stars of the Bakersfield scene. Where's Wynne Stewart for Pete's sake? As to the music show -- it was pathetic. Pure Nashville top forty, ugh. Even when they did one of Buck's songs it would have made Don Rich choke. What a sad, sad, sad memorial to all that Buck was.

If you arrive between the hours of 11-4 during the week, it costs $5.00 per person to see the "museum" (statues)
