[Alex Martinez, 08/18/2022]Bono's Giant Orange Stand
On the way to staying at the Wigwam Motel, we stopped by to see the Giant Orange Stand. It is right next to Bono's, a historic Route 66 restaurant. Both are now behind a construction fence. It looks like the restaurant is actively being worked on, but no one was around to ask. Someone must be trying to bring back these historic Route 66 attractions!
[Jody Day, 11/11/2014]Giant Orange Stand
Officially called "Bono's Historic Orange," my wife and I spotted this classic orange stand along route 66 in Fontana. The orange is in great shape, even though it sits next to Bono's restaurant, which has been closed for several years. This particular orange was originally built in 1936. It was saved from demolition in the 1990's and moved to its current location in 1997.
While visiting, don't forget to check out the Wigwam Village just a few miles east.
[Greg Kopp, 01/07/2009]While coming home from the Wigwam motel, we drove on Route 66 and to my complete delight we came across a giant orange. Called Bono's Historic 66 Orange stand, it's right next to Bono's original 66 Restuarant (it was closed, but I think it was too early). Really, really cute and so close to us. My husband thought we won the lottery with all the shouting and sounds I was making when we drove by.
