St. Germain, Wisconsin: Chief Big St. Germain
A wooden statue -- probably an old tree trunk -- depicts Big Chief St. Germain. A lot of Indians had that name, but a single chief never existed. Next to it is a similarly carved large muskie fish, unnamed.

Statue of Big Chief St. Germain standing outside the Information Booth. This statue is flanked by a giant muskellunge as well as a map of the areas lakes and cottages. Both of these statues have been there for time out of mind. I have been visiting my family in St Germain since the early '60s and it has always been there. My Great Aunt ran the information booth for many years.
[Heidi Hessen, 03/15/2007]In downtown St. Germain, on a corner where the State Road 70 makes some turns, there are statues (wood carvings) of Chief St Germain, and of a fish on a plank. Both are about 15 ft. high.
