Birthplace of U-Haul
The "Birthplace of U-Haul" is Ridgefield, Washington. Officials from U-Haul attended the ceremony when the new sign on Pioneer Street was erected. The actual building where the first trailers were built has been moved a short distance because the land where it was originally became part of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. If a person wants to visit the building they can also visit the Cathlapotle Plankhouse and Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge at the same time. They are all in the same area.
