The Mohawk: Stuffed Animals

Currently closed. I have known about this place for 50 years and have always stopped when passing by. Unfortunately, I couldn't get inside to take pics. It is truly a historic gem and I hope someone buys it and begins to share the collections again.

The restaurant closed in late December 2021.

The Mohawk: Stuffed Animals

Visited in August 2017 on the way to the eclipse. The Mohawk is for sale, and it looks like they are looking for someone to carry on. The taxidermy and whiskey decanter collection seem to be part of the deal.

Two-headed calf.

The Mohawk: Stuffed Animals

Awesome taxidermy and bottle collection. Two headed calf and lamb are real! Clean and decent food, nice people.

The Mohawk: Stuffed Animals

This place is great. More character in one room than 20 other restaurants combined. Stop, take a look, have coffee or a meal.

The Mohawk - Stuffed Freak Animals

Restaurant south on highway 97 that goes out of Bend toward Klamath Falls. It has all kinds of stuffed animals in the dining hall: two-headed lambs, marlin fish, blow fish, bears, jackalope, "pigmy Indians," fawns etc. It serves great food and cold drinks. When I was a child growing up there, in the early 60's it used to be the hot spot around for great food that my Mom Faye Chavez cooked, and the original owner Blackie and Helen Malani were a wonderful couple. We used to go at night and dance the "Hokie Pokie" off the old juke box.
