The "Large Purple Dragon" outside Lumberjack's Kitchen has been repainted with a new color scheme of red with dark gray and light gray. Shocker! It is at a 90-degree angle to the road, so it is a small profile as you drive past. If you are headed north, start looking in the side parking lot as soon as you see signs for the Lumberjack's Kitchen restaurant. The location is at the northern end of the town of New Buffalo.

This dragon is identical to the sea serpent statue in Crosby, Minnesota -- it's just painted differently.
[Debra Jane Seltzer, 06/29/2012]I have been traveling up and down this road for the past 28 years, so I have watched the progression of this dragon! They must have been collecting pieces of it for years, because for a long time, there were just pieces of it laying around. Then, one time I went by...the whole dragon was put together. On another trip, I noticed that it was purple!

Next to a sign for "Burgundy's Innovative Cuisine" on Route 11/15 is a 2-story tall, purple and blue-green, serpent-type dragon. It sits at the edge of the parking lot and I'm not sure if this is to advertise the restaurant or what. It appears to be new (relatively) and made of fiberglass.
