Pioneer Mom with Scary Child
The Pioneer mom and child are still there, still creepy!

Had to make a stop as we went right past it. A 2 minute detour off I-81, and the hotel is on the road behind the Gulf gas station. The statue looks the same as in previous pictures. The old lady doesn't look happy and her kid is probably from the Chuckie or Annabelle (doll) movies. Definitely an RA winner!

I noticed this while staying at the Motel 6 across the street... and being a Muffler Man enthusiast I had to go look. Not a M-Man or a derivative thereof, but worth seeing anyway. Looks like she hasn't had a paint job recently, and the motel part of Granny's Motel and Kitchen is going through some changes; it didn't look open and there were lots of mattresses in the parking lot and the lobby. But the Pioneer Woman and her Scary Child are still there, staring, and still holding that decapitated doll.

Stopped after a trip to Centralia. Not so sure that the motel is open, unless it is rented by the hour. Nonetheless it is a unique find and a fantastically creepy photo op.
[Roadside Explorer, 06/25/2016]The motel is again in business. Be careful when pulling into the parking lot. Maybe it's the huge potholes in the driving surface that make the child in Granny's arms look so frightened!
