I am 87, and saw Pretty Boy Floyd at the Sturgis Funeral Home with my dad. We lived just 10 minutes away. The death mask was made of "slip," not flip. It was made by my uncle, Jack Owen, a potter. I saw it many times when he kept it behind a door in his home. When my uncle died, his widow gave it away because she hated it. Jack's son, my cousin, still lives in Chicago and can verify this.
