This giant woman's pump shoe is still proudly standing in front of the Brown Shoe company building.
[Jim L, 10/02/2012]Aside from the Big Shoe Made of Shoes, the entire town of Clayton, MO is filled with lots of statues, art etc. All of the electrical boxes near the stop lights are even painted with various things -- an ocean scene, a field of buffalo, an on/off switch. There's a very nice row of fountains with a memorial to the police and firemen directly behind the police headquarters.

The Big Shoe Made of Shoes is located in front of the Brown Shoe Company Executive offices - not their factory. I worked there for many years. Brown Shoe Company was the first Fortune 500 company to locate and build in Clayton. Although it is no longer a Fortune 500 company it is still the largest shoe distributor in the world - and home to Buster Brown, and others brands.
[Susan G. Holtzman, 08/06/2005]The giant shoe of shoes that once sat at the infamous City Museum was moved several years ago. It's new home is on Maryland Avenue in Clayton, not far from the Galleria Shopping mall. It sits on the sidewalk that leads to the main entrance of Brown Shoe Factory.
