In the 1970s, the Mermaid was on the corner of Highway 10 and County Road H. It was later placed atop the Mermaid bowling center. It is gone now.
[Ben Branshaw, 06/24/2022]According to a Minneapolis newspaper article, there are plans to restore the statue, which became structurally unsafe, and return it to the roof of the building. No ETA was published, however.

She is still on the roof! Funky place with a restaurant, bar, bowling alley and convention center.

Sitting high atop the roof of the Mermaid Restaurant and Lounge off of Ramsey county route 10 in Mounds View, Minnesota, she is queen of all she can see -- the parking lot. Granted there isn't much reason to stop here, but then again what reason do you need to see any of the Big Things?

The mermaid was taken down in 2018. At the time there was talk of the mermaid being restored and returned to public view, but it hasn't happened yet.
