[Mark, 07/17/2020]Trapp Family Lodge and Graves
This is a must-see place, especially in the fall. Take some time and stay awhile. It's kept very well and has great views.
[Howard, 09/27/2015]In a current entry for ["Sound of Music"] Trapp Family Lodge there is a note from the RA editors that it doesn't seem to be a very interesting attraction, from the RA perspective, due to a lack of obvious weirdness or kitsch. However, it's worth noting that Maria and the Captain are actually buried right at the lodge along with all their children. That's not really mentioned in any of the Trapp Family Lodge literature -- I came across the graves while I was snowshoeing. Personally, I was delighted.
[roadside millie, 01/22/2009]Trapp Family Lodge
The site where the Von Trapp family ("The Sound of Music") settled in America. There were quite a few people there the day we visited. There are a lot of cabins/lodges where you can stay on the site and a gift shop. It is a fabulous view from there!
[Jen, 08/24/2007]Not sure why we should care about this place, unless everyone dresses in lederhosen and loudspeakers continuously blare the movie soundtrack...
Von Trapp Family Lodge
The lodge where the Von Trapp family ("Sound of Music") took up residence after moving to America. The gift shop is a big tourist trap, with overpriced mementos. The highlight for my friend and I was the electric fence which ran behind the lodge (I dunno, maybe our odd senses of humor, we just found it amusing). Also, the real story behind the family isn't quite how it was portrayed in the Rodgers and Hammerstein version, so be prepared if this should bother you.

Thanks, Millie. Guess it would be too much to expect a grave site pressure plate that plays music?
