On Jesse's headstone is a Confederate Flag and "Supposedly killed in 1882." Ha-ha, Jesse outfoxed them.

History's Skid Marks, August 15: Infamous 1880s Wild West outlaw Jesse James died this day -- in 1951! He was 103 years old (living 69 years beyond his official death). Or so it says on a tombstone in Granbury, Texas, marking the grave of J. Frank Dalton but inscribed as Jesse Woodson James. He said that he was Jesse, and that the man buried in Missouri in 1882 was an unlucky dupe, murdered so that J. Frank could start a new life. DNA tests on J. Frank's remains later debunked his story, but the town claimed that the testers dug up the wrong bones!
