We had so much fun at Storybook Island. My twins are 10 years old and it seemed to be geared to younger kids so I thought we would just take a look-see and be on our way. Nope! My boys played there all day long! We went in the morning, left to have lunch, then went back after lunch for a few more hours. The park is free, and the train ride and carousel are $2 each ride (!). There are yummy snack bars too...the rainbow sherbet was fantastic (and I'm not much of a sherbet fan, so that's saying a lot).
If your have kids and you're near Rapid City, make sure you stop by Storybook Island.

The other reviews and pictures do not do it justice. It was amazing, I have two small children and they had the time of their life! Better than Sea World and Six Flags and it's free! They have every single character your child loves and the ones you used to love too! We spent our whole day there.
[Chelsea, 09/02/2015]A small park with various little displays of storybook characters. The Three Billy Goats Gruff have their own island. You can walk through the Crooked Little House built by the Crooked Little Man. There are also a few animals, such as baby deer around. There is a great children's theatre performing group that does shows throughout the summer season. In the few weeks leading to Christmas, the whole park is decorated with Christmas lights and is open to the public to walk around and enjoy carollers and hot cocoa on a snowy winter evening.
