When old Chris wanted a gold mine and didn't have any "diggings," he went and filed on the spare bedroom of his house in the famous mining district of Murray Idaho. He was still digging in his "workings" last I heard in beautiful downtown Murray, home of the Sprag Pole Museum.

Miner Chris Christopherson last worked the "claim" under his bedroom in 1991 when he was 80 years old. He started digging in 1967, eventually creating a damp 36-ft. shaft under the building. Someone named Old Man Hinkle had convinced him there was gold under the place. He actually pulled out some gold in its heyday.
