Steelworker Statue on 4th
This statue was made by John Morris Sr. (my dad) and Abraham Morris Jr. of Wintersville, Ohio; and Jim Agnew of Wellsburgh, West Virginia. They worked for Center Foundry in Warwood, West Virginia. An independent person paid to have it made in 1989. They were paid $100 each, plus a few 12-packs of beer and a few sub sandwiches.

The Steelworker has been refurbished, polished, and re-installed in front of the Steubenville Library. It is on a small bluff overlooking the river. A railroad bridge and a current steel factory can be seen in the background.
[signmanjoe, 07/29/2017]The steelworker statue is no longer on display at SR 7 and US 30. Only the pedestal remains there. The statue was removed about eight months ago because of planned road construction in the area and it is currently in storage. It will be reinstalled in front of the Carnegie Library on South 4th Street sometime before June 2015.
[signmanjoe, 05/03/2015]Statue is smaller than it appears. It is significantly weathered with rust. There's a small closed road behind the statue, where you may park briefly and to take a photo.
